The aim of this thesis was to explore the relationship between social media activity and approach to sport. The investigated social media was Instagram, and the SIU (Subjective Instagram Usage) questionnaire was used to map respondents' use of this platform. The results of the PANAS questionnaire were used to determine approach to sport, where a self-translation was used to measure affectivity. The DMP is mapping passion for the sport in this study. The associations were investigated using data from 507 respondents, 337 women and 170 men (M = 21,49). The results of the inferential statistics supported the existence of associations between the constructs under investigation, both between and across variables within the construct, with the discovery of these relationships being the central aim of this thesis. Here, the study produced findings particularly in the existence of a link between affectivity and social network usage, where negative affectivity in sport in particular may be a consequence of the very excessive social network use reported in this study through intensity and average daily minutes spent on Instagram. Furthermore, the study confirmed the existence of the Goldilock's effect, which is mainly associated here with positive experiences during sport and their association with lower intensity of social networking use.
