Course content
|
Content of practicals: Introduction to the legislative backround of lanscape planning. Principles of Reagional Development (ZUR), Policy of Regional Development of Czech Republic (PUR ČR) and their influence to the processing and discussion of a new local lanscape plan. The importance of local lanscape plans (ÚPD) for environmental protection. Czech Lanscape System of Ecological Stability (ÚSES), its desingning and debating process and binding character. Historical sources and maps as a base for projecting ÚSES and revitalization of watercourses - examples of valid ÚPD. Territorial Analytical Sources (ÚAP) as an obligatory source for the ÚPD creation. Local and regional authorities involved in ÚPD creation - emphasis to the landscape passableness, minimalization of lanscape fragmentation and securing of migratory corridors for large mammals. Creation of local ÚSES based on real data and land registry of the municipality. Components of local ÚSES and dicussion of their suitable location and functioning. Eeconet and Natura 2000 (EVL, PO, NPR, PR, NPP, PP) areas in Czech Republic - as a part of ÚSES system. Landscape character and its protection in ÚPD. Evaluation of landscape character and its difficulties. Biotops (Natura 2000, biotop maping in districts), their protection and importance during ÚPD creation. Experiences of negative examples: underestimation of some ÚPD parts, illegal approach in pushing particular projects and purposes. Seminar: field excursions to areas solved by real local landscape plans in the town of České Budějovice and its vicinity. Work with local landscape plans and proposals of environmental protection for particular localities and ÚSES.

Learning outcomes
|
This course aims to present how to use landscape planning as an effective tool of environmental protection. Suitable and controversial examples of valid landscape plans will be practically introduced.
