Course content
Content of tutorials/seminar: Geology and geomorphology - geological bedrock and examples of geomorphological processes in the landscape, examples of geomorphological research methods and mapping Hydrology - hydrometric methods and sediment transport monitoring Climatology and meteorology - basic meteorological measurements in the field, observation of local climate phenomena in the landscape Landscape ecology and pedology - landscape mapping methods and pedological research During the final seminar, students will present their measurements in the field and discuss the results between themselves

Learning outcomes
The aim of the field training is to apply and extend the knowledge acquired in the basic physical geography lectures (geology, geomorphology, hydrology, climatology and meteorology, pedology, landscape ecology). The field training will take place in a chosen area of Czechia or in the adjacent border area of Austria and Slovakia. Prior to the field trip, students will be introduced to the visited area during an introductory seminar. The field research methods will be presented during the training and the findings will be presented and discussed in the broader context of the visited area during the final seminar.
