Course content
|
Content of practicals: The course will take a four-day excursion in Veltrusy, where the following topics will be discussed and presented in the field: 1) Introduction - mutual relations of monument conservation and nature protection, their commons and differences at ideological and executive, conceptual and institutional aspects 2) Brief introduction to conceptual of heritage management, even in history 3) Introduction to nature conservation and its history 4) Institutional provision of monument care and nature protection in the Czech Republic 5) Veltrusy area, its nature value and landscape and heritage conservation 6) Multistaholder participation in decision making in selected area

Learning outcomes
|
The aim is search of common interest of nature protection and heritage conservation in the cultural landscape. The course will focus on common and different points of the theoretical background of nature and monument conservation as well as on the issue of the conflict of interests of both these areas in the practice of contemporary landscape management.
