Course content
|
Content of practicals: Review of published papers presented by students and moderated by the tutors. The participants will discuss and analyse the aims, methods and results and critically re-phrase the presented conclusions. Strengths and weaknesses of papers will be appraised.

Learning outcomes
|
The main objective of the course is the discussion over recently published papers from systematics of vascular plants and their critical review. The students will follow the major periodicals in the field.
Students will be given the ability to analyze the articles published. It is able to recognize weaknesses and strengths of individual parts of papers as well as methodical approaches.

Prerequisites
|
Basic overview of the main methods of systematic botany, interest in plants.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Student performance assessment, Systematic student observation
Attendance to the lectures (min. 75%). Treatmen of given topic. Presentation.
