Course content
|
Detailed analysis and critical evaluation of recent publications in bellow listed areas of phycology and their setting in broader context. (journal club) - Biotechnology - Ecology - Taxonomy Students also practice preparation of atractive presentations and improve their presentation skills.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with recent phycological literature and to develop thei ability of critical evaluation of published information in broader context of the field.
Expanding skills related to working with literature - critical view, presentation of published results. At the same time, students improve their presentation skills.

Prerequisites
|
Basic knowledge on Cyanobacteria and algae at least at level given in Plant Biology (KBO/767) class or higher is expected.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Systematic student observation, Seminar work
Presence at at least 70 % of classes, active participation at the seminar - presentation of progress of student´s theses, presentation of selected paper at the journal club.
