Course content
The course is planned to be devided into several blocks: 1. large- and small-scale specially protected areas, basic and nearer protective rules, marking of specially protected areas in the countryside, buffer zones of protected areas, management plans and their contents; other protected areas - nature parks, significant landscape components; landscape character 2. particular types of specially protected areas, examples, competences of landscape protection authorities, procedure of new protected areas establishment 3. Agency of Nature Conservation and Landscape Protection - organization chart, competences and scope of employment, teritorial competencies of particular PLA Administrations, legislation - Act no. 114/1992 Coll., Regulation no.395/1992 Coll. vs. Red List, general protection and special protection of species (diferent rules for plants and animals) 4. legislation of the EU in/and our lesgislation - Bird Areas, Sites of Community Interest, species of European Community Interest, legislation on nature conservation in neighbouring countries 5. "Zoology for botanists" - need of multidisciplinar access to nature conservation 6. "Scientific research and law" - why and when ask for an exception to the law or for an approval of local landscape protection authority, administrative proceedings 7. management planning in specially protected areas and in not-protected landscape - finances, competences, examples. 8. Case studies, own experiences, discussion.

Interconnection of theoretical botany and zoology with practical nature conservation, interpretation of the most important parts of of the Nature Conservation and Landscape Protection Act, experiences from praxis and learning of work in nature conservation.
