Content of practicals: The course will be take place in GENLABS laboratory in the policlinic MEDIPONT in České Budějovice. The practical part will consist of DNA isolation using peripheral blood or buccal swab, PCR method, restriction digestion, electrophoresis detection of PCR products and as well of the interpretation of results. The theoretical part will explain the principles of molecular genetic diagnostic approaches such as ARMS PCR, RFLP PCR , reverse hybridization, array CGH, SNP array, next generation sequencing and further due to the development of molecular biology.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to show students how to test molecular-genetic methods e.g. ARMS - PCR, PCR - RFLP in practice. Theoretical part of course will introduce students the principles and know-how of methods used in modern molecular biology for specialized diagnosis of inherited or acquired diseases.
Student knows how to use molecular biology techniques for diagnosis and threathment of genetic disorders.
