Course content
Content of lectures: 1. Significance of biorhythms in nature, history of chronobiology, directions of its application in biomedicine. 2. Basic characteristics in biorhythms analysis, levels and manifestations of biorhythms, specificity in research and clinical applications. 3. Genetic principles in biorhythm regulation. 4. Time structure of human organism.. 5. Changes of biorhythms in ontogenesis. 6. Physiological mechanisms of biorhythm regulation, synchronisation. 7. Changes of biorhythms in extreme conditions. 8. Chronopathology. 9. Chronopharmacology and chronotoxicology. 10. Chronohaematology. 11. - 12. Biorhythms and mental hygiene.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Dialogic (discussion, interview, brainstorming)

Learning outcomes
To acquaint with the time structure of organisms with respect to applications in biomedicine
Students acquire basic knowledge on mechanisms of temporal regulations of physiological processes in humans Students understand importance of the temporal regulation for health Students learn methods how to assess state of the internal timekeeping system in human body Students learn about possibilities to treat disturbances of the internal timekeeping system using chronotherapeutic procedures
Prerequisites
Basic knowledge in biology, physiology and molecular biology

Assessment methods and criteria
Combined exam

To pass an exam is needed to obtain at least 70% points in written test.
