Course content
1. Biological approaches to human behavior (behaviorism, classical ethology, sociobiology) 2. Human behavioral ecology and evolutionary psychology 3. Hominoid social system, behavior and ecology 4. Human behavioral endocrinology 5. Sexual selection, attractiveness, and sexual behavior 6. Cooperation, reciprocity, kin selection 7.-8. Family, marriage and inheritance 9. Conflict and violence, life history, evolutionary demography 10. Origins and functions of language

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with human behavior from an evolutionary-biological perspective. The course will provide an opportunity to compare different approaches to the study of human behavior and the psyche from the perspective of ethology, behavioral ecology, evolutionary psychology, behavioral endocrinology and evolutionary linguistics.

Written examination

Written examination consisting of three questions, each evaluated separately on a scale of 1-4. The final average must be at least 3.
