Course content
|
Content of practicals: One week excursion to a selected region in Czechia rich in insects. Sampling insects using diverse methods in various habitats. Identification of insects. Demonstration of more and less successful managements targeted to insects.

Learning outcomes
|
The course will teach students about methods of field investigation of insects. They will investigate the biodiversity of selected species-rich region in Czechia including examples of management in nature conservation targeted to insects.
Student is able to identify common species of insects in the field. He can estimate their ecological requirements, specific treats of their biology and methods of conservation.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Student performance assessment, Systematic student observation
Full presence in the field practicals; determination of more than 50 % of selected species, assignment of their properties.
