Course content
Content of lectures: 1. Introduction to nerve cells and nervous systems, 2. The cell membrane and ionic permeability, the action potential,3.the general properties of synaptic transmission, 4.-5 The sensory physiology – vision, hearing, somatosensory system, chemical senses, 6. organization of motor control. 7. Learning ana memory, 8. Autonomic nerve system, 9. Development of nervous system, 10. Open questions. Content of practices: Introductory course in electrophysiology lab, electrical recordings of receptor potentials from olfactory organs in insects, adaptation, deadaptation.
