Learning outcomes
After successful passing of the project advocating, the whole student team gain final credits. The typical example of the IS/IT project topic is the prototype of concrete information system (e.g. an information system of a company). The main difference from a diploma thesis is that the IS Project is always solved by a team, while a diploma thesis is always submitted by a particular student. The goal of the IS Project is to gain habits and skills of the team work.
Every project, a student meets in practice, is a team work, the team members will have particular roles, some of them can be put together others can miss: - Project manager - Enterprise architect / solution architect - SW architect - Security architect - Analyst - Developer - Tester The student must choose a role he/she has in the project. For successful presentation of the solution the student must realize that the committee knows nothing about the project and the student must explain it not only from his/her point of view but also from the point of view of other roles e.g. from the view of a project manager of a security architect. If the student presents a company project, it is advisable to invite some other participant from the company. The student must consider that the quality of his/her presentation in from of the committee, which know nothing about the project, is as important as the real project quality and project profits. The student should focus on the solution and other things must be only mentioned. If there are more students involved in the project, it is a good idea to alter in the presenting. The student must consider the understandability opf the presentation and complete the presentation with pictures and practical show. The student can use consulting, presentation training, IS Project evaluation.
