Course content
Content: - Structured cabling - Optical distribution, types of optical fibers - Wake up - Optical connectors - Optical elements - High speed Ethernet Practical part: - Fiber breaking. - Installation of optical connectors. - Measurement of fibers and optical connectors

Learning activities and teaching methods
Practical training
  • Preparation for classes - 5 hours per semester

  • Class attendance - 15 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
This is a weekly internship in a computer room. The aim of the internship is to practically master the basics of working with optical fibers.
Practical acquaintance with work with optical fibers.
Prerequisites
Basic experience with hardware handling.

Test

Basic knowledge of computer networks (eg in the scope of the course UAI / 699 Computer Networks I).
