Course content
Linux - the history and the specifics of the system Orientation in OS Linux - graphic mode and command line, file systems Installation of Linux User accounts administration Basic tools of command line Text editors Work with the text files Conversion of files Introduction to configuration and administration of Linux

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Practical training

Learning outcomes
This subject is designed for students of biology. During the course, they will get introductory information and knowledge important for work with Linux operating system. The subject can be very useful especially for those students who are supposed to work with applications written for this operating system.

Prerequisites
The topic not claim any specific skills, but the work with PC and internet in common. The subject is not designed for students of informatics.
