The laboratory exercise is designed to introduce students to practical chemistry teaching, which they will try out on prepared experiments. Teachers should already have an overview and basic knowledge of general, inorganic, organic, physical chemistry and biochemistry, be familiar with chemical text, software for creating chemical formulas and the Internet for chemistry teachers. Experiments have been designed with the possibility of their use in everyday life in mind. The individual tasks will focus on: 1. Alkalimetric determination of acetic acid in vinegar 2. Determination of L-ascorbic acid (vitamin C) iodometrically 3. Chelatometric determination of calcium and magnesium in mineral and drinking water 4. Determination of chloride in water according to Mohr

Learning outcomes
Chemistry is a field that is constantly evolving, so the school education system needs to respond to this development and constantly update the content of education. It is necessary to transform newly acquired knowledge into the school environment of secondary schools, ie continuous education of teachers in their field of science. The course will focus on linking chemical advances with everyday life and also on possible links with teaching chemistry at secondary schools. The course focuses on the possibility of using modern technologies in school practice with a focus on teaching chemistry. Students will try to perform practical laboratory experiments. Experiences from these exercises they will be able to apply in teaching of chemistry.
Students learn to use appropriate teaching aids and revise knowledge of chemistry and biochemistry graduate to pass the final exam.
Prerequisites
The minimum requirement for students is basic knowledge of chemistry and biochemistry and knowledge gained after the completion of bachelor's degree specializations.
Assessment methods and criteria
Combined exam
Requirement for successful completion of the course is student's active participation in seminars. The final exam will take the form of an oral interview with a final assessment by awarding marks.
