Course content
Content of lectures: 1. Kinematics and dynamics of a single particle, conservation laws 2. Curvilinear coordinates - orthogonal curvilinear coordinates, velocity and acceleration in these coordinates 3. Systems of particles, conservation laws 4. The problem of two bodies, the system associated with the center of mass 5. Mechanics of rigid bodies - rotation, inertia tensor, Euler's equations of motion 6. Non-inertial system, the equations of motion in non-inertial systems 7. Systems subjected to restrictions, the principle of virtual work, Lagrange's equations of the 1st kind 8. Lagrange equations of the second kind 9. Hamilton's canonical equations 10. The basic equations of fluid dynamics - continuity equation and the equation of motion 11. Ideal fluid flow. Outflow from vessels 12. Flow of real fluids. Hydraulic losses. Unsteady flow 13. Laminar flow, flow in a tube of circular cross section. Analytically solvable cases of laminar flow Content of practicals: Calculation of exercises accompanying the lectures

Learning outcomes
Theoretically deepen the knowledge from basic courses of physics, introduction to theoretical mechanics, demonstrate deeper connections amonf various areas of physics.
Understand importance of different formulations of laws of physics, use them for solution of model tasks, find general connections among various areas of physics.
Prerequisites
Passing basic courses of mechanics (UFY/FYZ1) and electricity and magnetism (UFY/FYZ2).

Assessment methods and criteria
Systematic student observation, Combined exam

Criteria for obtaining the course credit (zápočet): At least 50% active participation at exercises, at least 50% points from the final test (calculation of exercises). Criterium for passing the exam: At least 50% knowledge of the topic contained in the two drawn test questions.
