Course content
Molecule-radiation interaction, excited states, intermolecular interactions, excitons, theoretical description of energy transfer (Förster and Dexter transfer), coherent vs. incoherent energy transfer, exciton relaxation, theoretical description of electron transfer (Marcus theory), reorganization energy, experimental approaches used for measurements of energy and electron transfer

Learning outcomes
Understanding of basic principles of energy and electron transfer in biological systems
Students will gain knowledge of basic theoretical principles related to electron and energy transfer. They will be able to solve problems related to these phenomena in various biological systems.
Prerequisites
Knoeldge of general physics approximaely according to the courses Physics 1-4, Quantum Theory 1-2
