Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to present the basic methodological approaches, problems and challenges of economics and to indicate the current state and perspectives of standard microeconomic and macroeconomic theory and selected alternative approaches outside the mainstream. Everything is set in the context of conflicting processes of contemporary globalization, with emphasis on technological change, growth, development and especially the category of innovation, which is key to identifying technological revolutions, resulting in a critical assessment of theories of information, knowledge, digital, etc. For the above reasons, the course is based on an interdisciplinary approach to socio-economic reality. Its space is defined by standard economic theory, philosophy, sociology of political science, futurology and methodology of science. The basic axis of interpretation is presented by highlighting the importance of the basic economic paradigm, respectively. individualistic rationality of economic man, including a critical evaluation and an indication of the search for new foundations of economic science for the 21st century. The course further elaborates the issue of the links between development models and technological changes, resp. technical revolutions on the one hand and at the same time draws attention to the growing role of the subjective factor in qualitatively new - globalized - conditions since the beginning of the new millennium on the other.
Students understand the basic economic relationships and phenomena formed in chronological order. In this way he understands the principles illuminating the contemporary contexts of economic disciplines, which can be used in other courses.
