Course content
The themes: 1. Main principles of ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), analysis of chosen ERP systems, such as MS Axapta and other 2. Description of the functionality of the financial module of ERP system 3. Analysis of links to other ERP business applications 4. Current situation and trends in the ERP market 5. Other elements of corporate IS - BI, CRM and other and their functionality 6. Principles of implementation of ERP system 7. IS management, organizational and legal aspects of the implementation of the ERP system 8. Trends in corporate IS 9. Specifics of IS solutions for different segments - small, medium and large businesses, industry solutions 10. Functional, data and business process trends of enterprise IS 11. Measuring of effects of IS 12. Approaches to innovation of IS

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to familiarize students with the principles and methods used in the enterprise information systems. Teaching is focused on software like ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), CRM (Customer Relationship Management), BI (Business Intelligence) and other software used in enterprises. Students will be familiar with the current process of implementation ERP system, for example of software ERP Axapta and other. Students should, therefore, understand the possibilities and limits of the various enterprise software, ERP applications know links to other enterprise applications and know the principles of the various stages of the selection and implementation of ERP system including their specific features, trends and innovations.
Students should have an overview of the basic principles of business information systems, their trends and use. Students should I be able to assess effects of IS and to choose suitable IS for various business needs.
Prerequisites
Knowledge in the scope of Business Informatics.

Assessment methods and criteria
Combined exam, Seminar work

Students have to develop several homeworks and work up a final project. Exam: written test and discussion on final project.
