Course content
1 - Bibliographic citations, text references, the norm ISO 690 2 - Bibliographic databases - advanced search, CD-ROM servers 3 - The Web of Science 4 - Evaluation and sorting of information: personal bibliographic database, 5 - Advanced completion of multimedia materials (digital photography, audio and video materials) 6 - Validity of information, plagiarism 7 - Specifics of scientific texts 8 - Summary writing 9 - Methods of data presentation, visualisation 10 - Preparing the diploma thesis 11 - Specifics of oral presentation 12 - Preparing an oral presentation, team presentation 13 - Poster creation

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Dialogic (discussion, interview, brainstorming)

Learning outcomes
The course is targeted at the practical utilisation of information technologies with an emphasis on scientific work. It consists of three parts characterised as searching, management and presentation of information. The student will completes partial homework assignments. An e-learnig environment is exploited throughout the course.
The student is oriented in an e-learning environment. He/she performs practical skills in the area of searching, management and presentation of information: citation norms, bibliography databases, simple management of graphical, audio- and video-materials, preparation of scientific texts, basic principles of oral presentation.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination, Analysis of student's work activities (technical works), Test

Completing cca 8 partial projects in an e-learning environment. Final presentation.
