  • Class attendance - 42 hours per semester
  • Preparation for exam - 50 hours per semester
  • Preparation for credit - 46 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
It is the first part of the course of Engineering Mathematics. It is targeted at the fundamentals of linear algebra, the theory of functions, calculus and sequences. Applications in economics are emphasised.
The student will understand the basic concepts of linear algebra, the theory of functions, sequences and calculus. He/she will use the basic algorithms of linear algebra, evaluate the limits of sequences, work with elementary functions and analyze them.
Prerequisites
Student has to know high school mathematics very well.

Assessment methods and criteria
Combined exam, Test

- active participation in all seminars (100%) - to pass a credit tests (at least 70%), 6 credit tests during 2 open questions, time allocated is 10 minutes, the final score is average of 3 best attempts, student has one attempt for each test only - to pass a combined examination - written part (at least 50%), 4 open questions, time allocated is 60 minutes and following oral part (at least 50%)
