Course content
Lectures: 1. Introduction into the subject and basic terminology and notation. 2. Introduction into graph theory, shortest-path problem, minimum spanning tree problem. 3. Maximum flow problem, minimum cost flow problem, network simplex method. 4. Project networks, critical path. 5. Time-cost trade-offs for individual activities. 6. Using linear programming to make crashing decisions. 7. PERT method. 8. Introduction into multiple attribute decision making, basic terminology. 9. Simple additive weighting method, application. 10. TOPSIS, application. 11. ELECTRE, application. 12. Software - MS Project. 13. Software - MS Project. 14. Final remarks and conclusion.

Learning outcomes
The course of Creation and SW support of projects has two main objectives. The first one is to introduce basic methods to manage projects (graph theory, network analysis) and to analyse the multiple attribute decision making. The second is focus on the basic software for scheduling, controlling and managing of projects.
Students understand the basic mathematical methods using for scheduling, controlling and managing projects, they are able to use software MS Project.

The course has no prerequisities.

Assessment methods and criteria
Combined exam, Test

Credit requirements: Duly submission of a seminar work on project management or multiple attribute decision making. Exam requirements: Written and oral exam. It is necessary to have at least 50 percent of points from the exam test to pass the written part. To pass the oral part it is necessary to answer at least one of three questions.
