Course content
Topics within the course: 1. Introduction to destination management and marketing 2. Tourism destination and its definition 3. Tourism policy in a destination and destination strategies 4. Institutions of destination management 5. Destination management form the viewpoint of system theory 6. Competitiveness, sustainability and responsibility in a tourism destination 7. Strategic marketing of tourism destination 8. Tactical marketing of tourism destination 9. System of financing of tourism development in a destination 10. System of quality management in a tourism destination

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is an explanation of particularities of the management in a tourism destination, implementation of marketing in destinations and a preparation of students for a future work in local, regional, national or international organisations and institutions, which participate on tourism development in tourism destinations.

Assessment methods and criteria
Seminar work, Self-reflection

Credit requirements: 1) Attendence of team member(s) on consultations to the projects (at least twice in a semester). The course is carried out as problem-based learning, the seminars are held as individual consultations of the teams to the work on the semestral projects. 2) To elaborate, hand in a present the semestral project according to the requirements in Moodle. 3) Attendence on the study tour to the topic of semestral projects. The form of all tasks must be fulfilled according to the requirements, important dates are specified in Moodle. Other updates to the course are being published in Moodle, that is why the participants should check it continuously. Pay attention to the required dates, the fulfillment is required to win the credits. It is suitable to consult about any questions and problems immidiately with the teacher, who can specify the rules, but only in the case of seriuos reasons.
