Learning outcomes |
The main aim of the course of English for Applied Mathematics and Informatics is to develop the students' all four communication skills (reading, writing, listening, and speaking) in the English language in fields of information technologies and applied sciences at upper intermediate level. The course, led in a communicative way, develops language competences of the students, introduces them to the vocabulary of the above mentioned fields and deals with the key features of the English grammar important for successful discussions and conversations about economic topics. Not only the grammatical correctness, but also the fluency and meaningful expression of ideas is emphasised in the course.

Assessment methods and criteria |
Test
Requierements: To obtain credits, the students have to: - complete all activities in the system Moodles with the total score at least 90% (the students may deal with all activities repeatedly). - to score at least 70% in the creadit test, full-time students have two attempts,part-time students have three attempts, the test consists of 46 questions divided into 4 parts: Termonology, Grammar, Reading Comprehension, Listening Comprehension - mathematical assignment; time allocation is 50 minutes; - to succeed in an interview with a native speaker discussing one of the topics which have been presented in the lessons during the semester. |
