Full-time study: Seminars: 1. Introduction to the course. Identification of strengths of students in English. Ice- breaking seminary discussions 2. Entertaining a client and corporate hospitality 3. Business travel 4. Working globally and awareness of different cultures and customs 5. Dealing with enquiries: Being friendly and helpful, but professional 6. Different ways of traveling: Giving advice and dealing with anxious travelers (eg. Fear of flying) 7. Taking a booking and dealing with questions 8. Organising a trip taking into account customer needs: letter writing 9. Telephone skills 10. Enquiries: taking messages, responding and confirming 11. Solving customer problems and dealing with complaints - how to avoid making mistakes 12. The art of guiding 13. Public relations. 14. Course feedback and credits

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the subject is to provide a working understanding of the English terminology, grammar and vocabulary required in order to communicate and manage successfully in an environment connected with tourism or trade and to increase fluency and confidence in using the language of those industries.
Students will be able to demonstrate understanding of the main tourism and trade industries' related English terminologies, vocabulary and grammar, which is necessary for successful communication and management through oral discussions, role plays and group presentations.

Basic grounding in English. For students wishing to study English at intermediate level or higher.
