Course content
1. Quality - system definition 2. International standardization and conformity assessment 3. Quality management. Concepts and principles of quality management 4. Significant standards and certifications in the field of quality: ISO 9001 5. Significant standards and certifications in the field of quality: industry standards and "good practices". 6. Tools for excellent management. European Foundation for Quality Management. Programs of excellence. Models of excellence. EFQM model. 7. Corporate social responsibility - CSR 8. Integrated management systems. EMS. HSMS. ISMS 9. Selected international certification programs focusing on sustainable development and ethics 10.-11. Company applications: Planning, implementation and demonstration of quality. Audits. Constant improvement 12. Quality management in a selected organization (external lecture) 13. The importance of quality in a global context (external lecture) 14. Credit

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Dialogic (discussion, interview, brainstorming), Excursion, Work with multi-media resources (texts, internet, IT technologies), Individual tutoring

Learning outcomes
The course deals with the definition of basic certification and other similar activities aimed at promoting quality or achieving the necessary degree of excellence to ensure global competitiveness.
The student understands the importance of certifications and alternative programs for creating functional models of quality management and communication with corporate stakeholders and achieving sustainable success.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written examination, Seminar work, Interim evaluation

Credit requirements: Elaboration and presentation of seminar papers in accordance with the assignment, participation in excursions and lectures of practitioners. Test requirements: Passing a written test with a min 60% success rate.
