Learning outcomes
The aim of this course is forward the knowledge of tourism in international dimension. Position of tourism in the world economy; analyse of international travel market. The Czech republic in European and world travel market. Entry strategy in the framework of international travels market. Globalisation, internationalisation, segmentation. Efficiency and results of international tourism. Worlds tourist regions. Global codex of ethics in tourism. Ecology and international tourism. International companies in tourist industry. Inter-cultural aspects in international tourism. (Předmět je nabízen paralelně v českém a anglickém jazyce)
Students are able to illuminate the impacts of the processes of international travel and tourism on the environment, to analyze segments of the international travel and tourism market, and to adopt these concepts during the market opportunity searching process.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written examination, Seminar work

Full-time study: Credit Requirements: Complete, present and hand in semester written work, four weeks before the exam period at the latest. Hand in at least two homework assignments. The homework will be assigned in lectures at least three times during the semester. Active participation in at least six seminars. Examination Requirements: Knowledge of the principles of this course based on the background of lectures and the list of literature is required. Students pass the written exam if they answer a minimum 60% of questions correctly. Part-time study: Credit Requirements: Hand in three pieces of homework set on 1st, 2nd, and 3rd consultation. The homework must be done in writing (each up to 500 words, it could be table, graph, cartogram or cartodiagram) and submitted to next Thursday after consultation. Examination Requirements: Knowledge of the principles of this course based on the background of lectures and the list of literature is required. Students pass the written exam if they answer a minimum of 60% of questions correctly.
