Topical areas: 1. Landscape in regional development. Documents, definitions. 2. Landscape as a pre-scientific concept - Western traditions of the concept of landscape concept, Dutch landscape painting and invisible landscape as the background. 3. Cultural roots of the term landscape - Czech cultural construct of the landscape and its comparison - Hebrew roots of the term, Asian and Australian construct. 4. Landscape as a scientific concept, the founding definition of landscape - Humboldt's founding definition and the current European Landscape Convention. 5. Typology of the European landscape sensu Meeus - pan European approach. 6. Current changes in the European landscape, driving forces and their manifestations at the regional level. 7 - 8. Geographical landscape planning. Use of GIS in spatial planning of regions. 9. Urbanized spaces (history of urban origin and their planning, urbanization processes, spatial structures of the city). 10. KES methodologies, their comparison and methodological weaknesses. Their use in planning. 11. Legal issues of land-use planning: Objectives, outputs of landscape planning, dimensions and parameters in EU countries - specifications in the Czech Republic. 12. Legal issues of land-use planning: Methodical principles of elaboration of a landscape plan, its structure and requisites (text part, analytical and evaluation part, design part and table part). 13. Legal issues of land-use planning: Land-use planning. Strategical planning. Landscape planning. Differences and supports in law.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course spatial planning is to gain theoretical knowledge about the relationships of economic, social, cultural and natural components of the landscape in the process of planning and development of the region, including the legal documents and problems of this issue. The student will be aware of broader regional context.

Credit requirements:¨ Description of your own selected area, to which the knowledge gained during lectures and exercises is gradually added - up to the proposals for changes and their KES - all in the MOODLE system. Exam requirements: Knowledge of thematic areas in a written test.
