Lectures: 1 - European integration and the creation of the European Community; 2 - organizational structure of the European Community and the European Union; 3 - the legal system - sources of law and rule-making; 4 - the application of Community law; 5 - the basics of Community, Internal Market; 6 - Competition; 7 - Economic and Monetary Union; 8 - Consumer protection; 9 - basic contracts: Treaty of Maastricht, Treaty of Amsterdam, Treaty of Nice, Treaty establishing a Constitution for Europe; 10 - general provisions of customs law of the EU and the Customs Code of the EU; 11 - measures for trade in goods; 12 - customs destination and use - customs procedures; 13 - customs debt.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to equip students with basic knowledge in the fields of theories and practice relating to particular institutions and mechanisms of the EU and Community law. Part is an explanation of the current legal situation in the field of customs law.
Students make sense of basic principles of the European Union - why and how the EU was established, how it constitutes and applies laws and what the role is of Member States. Listeners understand the basics of the Internal Market, Economic and Monetary Union, Competition, Consumer protection, principles of EU enlargement and the EU customs law.

The course of Law B (LAWB) is a prerequisite for the course of Legislation of the EU A.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Oral examination, Test
Credit Requirements: Participation in seminars. Working on seminary works about given themes. Examination Requirements: During the examination, students demonstrate their knowledge and orientation in the matters of the institutions and legistation of the EU.
