Course content
1. The history of spatial planning, concepts and basic legislation; 2. Objectives of planning, limits and regulations, the spatial arrangement of buildings; 3. The authorities of regional planning, layout and arrangement of space; 4. Functional division of the territory, the issue of brownfields; 5. Planning Tools - the content and acquiring of regional planning documents (analytical materials, regional studies); 6. Spatial development policy - acquisition, content, Principles of territorial development - content and acquisitions; 7. Planning documentation - zoning plan and regulatory plans - acquisition and content; 8. Zoning and planning decision - types, conditions and acquisition, Regional approval - conditions for acquisition; 9. Suburbanization - definitions, possible solutions; 10. Urban regeneration - the definition of problem areas, possible solutions; 11. Expropriation Act - clarification of the terms, conditions expropriation, rights and responsibilities, compensation; 12. The European City of Culture and the Rural Renewal Program village and the Village of the year competition; 13. Cooperation between regional planning and land adjustment - connectivity, addressing various issues in land use plans and comprehensive land consolidation projects.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Dialogic (discussion, interview, brainstorming)

Learning outcomes
The aim of subject is the acquisition of basic knowledge on the goals, conceptual and legislative instruments, and the proposal preparation of spatial planning documents. The understanding in context of sustainable regional development, EU agricultural policy, environmental protection and landscape ecology will be stressed.
Students will acquire basic knowledge on the principles of spatial planning and preparation of proposal of spacial planning documents in context of sustainable regional development.

Written examination, Seminar work

Credit requirements: Credits will be awarded not before 14 days before the end of the semester in agreement to the statement of dean no. 124/2017 article 15. Examination Requirements: Exam is written. The terms of exams will be set 3 weeks before the beginning of exam period in agreement to the statement of dean no. 124/2017 article 15.
