Course content
Lectures: 1. Historical excourse to beginning of environmetal thinking; 2. Greening of economic paradigm 3. Sustainable development- understanding and responses 4. International political activities from the 20th century 5. Environmetal policy and agri policy in the EU, CR 6. Environmental policy and energy policy in the EU, CR 7. Environmental policy and travel policy in the EU, CR 8. The EU and the US- green giants 9. Comparing the EU and the US policy trends - divergence or convergence? 10. Implementation of evironmental policy and law in the EU and the US 11. Environmental policy and risk regulation 12. Climate change and response of environmental policy 13. Trade and environment in global economy

Learning outcomes
Evironmental policy has many interrelations with economic policy, regional policy and behaviour of businesses in all levels from EU to national ones. The aim of this course is to give students the basic knowledge of the main principles of environmental policy as same as some overview of interrelatioships mentioned above. The specific attention will paid to comparison of EU and USA environmental politics as the representatives of two main green policy schemes. The introduction to knowledge Environemtal economics as a basic instrument of environmental policy will be also an inherent part of this course. The practical cases from Hungarian and Czech evironmental policy will be itroduced as well.
Students will gain main idea about the priciples and structure of environmental policy within the EU and national politics. They will have basic knowledge about the possibility of practical application of this policy via financial support from EU and national system of funds. Specific attention will be paid to Hungarian and Czech environmental policy and practical cases of its application.
Prerequisites
General environment protection knowledge.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination, Written examination, Seminar work

Credit requirements: Seminar paper and its presentation. Credits will be awarded not earlier than 14 days before the end of the semester in accordance with the measure of Dean No. 124/2017 Article 15. Examination Requirements: Written test and oral exam. The examinations will be written 3 weeks before the beginning of the examination period in accordance with the measure of Dean No. 124/2017 Article 15.
