Course content
1. Analysis of relationships among production efficiency - liquidity - financial health - stability of a corporation 2. Determinants of corporate performance in cross-section and time-series view. 4th generation of indicators of corporate performance (economic value added - EVA, market value added - MVA, Excess Return, Total Shareholder Return - TSR, Shareholder Value Added - SVA, Discounted Cash Flow - DSF, Cash Flow Return on Investment - CFROI, Cash Return on Gross Assets - CROGA). Transformation of accounting data for economic modelling. Case studies 3. Analysis and prognosis of value creation. Value creation - sales, operational profit margin, investment in working capital, investments in long term assets, rate of discount, equity and debt financing, Causal relationship analysis as a method of measuring the effectiveness of internal and external factors of determination on corporate performance. Valuation of a corporation. 4. Discounted cash flow method, capitalized net incomes, combined income methods, Economic value-added, market valuation, asset valuation. 5. Economic and financial analysis in crisis management. 6. Controlling. Aim of controlling, recent developments. Main attributes of institutionalization and applying of controlling in a corporation with emphasis put on initial project auditing. Feedback as a tool for controlling. 7. Methods and tools of managerial accounting and controlling. 8. Financial and cost accounting. System of planning and budgeting in corporate controlling. Managerial information system, analysis, reporting. 9. Cost controlling. The system of cost calculation in corporate management. Principles of cost allocation, traditional and advanced methods of calculation. Managerial income statement. Price decision-making. 10. Recent development in the field of economic and financial management of corporations. Interdisciplinarity, environmental managerial accounting, social responsibility, sustainable development. 11. Financial management and international finance. Forex, forward market, futures, options in corporate finance. Foreign exchange rate exposure and risk.Foreign investments. Financing on international financial markets.

Learning outcomes
The goal of the course is to present advanced topics and knowledge in the field of corporate financial management reflecting the recent development in the field. Corporate economy and finance are a result of multifactorial effects of the internal and external environment of a corporation. To provide an unbiased view of corporate finance, its development, financial managers decision-making, multidisciplinary approach and use of methods and tools of business economy, financial and managerial accounting, controlling at the operational, tactical and strategical levels. Details knowledge of managerial accounting and controlling, efficiency factors and decision making an impact on corporate value creation is necessary. Further, the knowledge of the state of the art research in the field obtained by studying and reviewing recent research papers is required. A review of the literature moderated by the teacher provides a good basis to understand and cope with model cases in financial management innovatively and effectively.

Prerequisites
Od absolventa předmětu "Finanční řízení podniku" doktorského studia se očekává, aby jeho vědomosti a dovednosti: 1. se opíraly o trvanlivé dosavadní a nejnovější poznatky týkající se řízení podnikových financí; 2. byly postaveny na základech triády "výzkum - výuka - praxe", včetně využití empirických matematicko-statistických přístupů k financím a dovednosti spojení těchto atributů v jeden celek; 3. měly komplexní náhled ve vztahu k podnikovým financím, vyžadující multidisciplinární profil, umožňující chápat přednosti akceptace různých uhlů pohledů na ten stejný problém. Od absolventa doktorského studia, jako adepta pro vědeckovýzkumnou činnost se také vyžaduje způsobilost komunikovat a efektivně prezentovat výsledky své výzkumné práce. Proto jednou z forem pedagogické práce bude i prezentace a obhajoba řešených modelových situací z oblasti finančního řízení podniku.

Requirements to be fulfilled before the exam: Research essay on a selected topic of the minimum length of 30 pages. The topics must be consulted with the teacher in advance with the guarantee of the course. It is recommended to reflect the topic of dissertation theses when selecting the topic of the essay. The essay should present its research results at least on 25% of pages. Exam requirements: The exam is oral consisting of a presentation and discussion of the research essay and testing the knowledge of topics stated in the course content. It is strongly recommended that the presented essay contains its own research results.
