Course content
1. Public sector and public finance in mixed economy. 2. Externalities. 3. Public goods. 4. Theory of public choice. 5. Government revenue. 6. Taxation and efficiency. 7. Government expenditure. 8. Social security. 9. Government Budget. 10. Fiscal Policy. 11. Fiscal imbalances. 12. Government budgets in Czech Republic. 13. EU budget.

Learning activities and teaching methods

  • Class attendance - 31.5 hours per semester

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to provide students with up-to-date theoretical and practical information on Public Finance. The emphasis is put on public finance in Czech Republic.
Student understand the general principles and structures of public finance, they are capable of basic orientation in public finance of Czech Republic.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination, Combined exam, Test, Interim evaluation

Credit Requirements: Active participation in seminars and obtaining a sum of at least 60 points of 100 in two written tests and other assignments. Examination Requirements: Oral Exam. Complex understanding of the matter specified in this syllabus.
