Course content
TOPICS 1 - Introduction to logistics, logistic system, logistic chains 2 - Logistic elements, places of contact, decoupling point 3 - Forecasting proces in logistics 4 - Planning proces in logistics 5 - Purchasing proces in logistics 6 - Push-Pull system in production 7 - Distribution chains 8 - Inventory costs, ABC method, safety stock 9 - Warehousing, palette storing, picking and shipping 10 - Logistics technologies 11 - Logistics in transportation 12 - Green and reverse logistics 13 - Packaging in logistics 14 - Process of Supply Chain analysis and synthesis

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing)

Learning outcomes
The course deals with investigation of material and information flow among subjects as suppliers of raw materials and parts, manufacturers of goods, distributors and end consumers with the aim to accelerate this flow, remove unnecessary elements, decrease inventories and costs. All this will contribute to better custom services and make the competition on the market for the firms more effective. The role of logistics increases especially in contemporary global environment. Students will be acquainted with specific methods and technologies of logistics.
Students will better understand the relations among all participants in the logistic chain and the relations between logictics and manufacturing and distribution.

The course of Logistics has no prerequisites.

Assessment methods and criteria
Test

Credit Requirements: Presentation of semestral projects. Examination Requirements: Written exam, at least 70 % of the exam test.
