Course content
Lectures: 1. Introduction to the subject, basic concepts. 2. Historical management development. 3. Strategic management. 4. Planning. 5. Organization. 6. Human Resource Management. 7. Managing people and teams. 8. Theory of work motivation. 9. Communication. 10. Decision Making. 11. Controlling. 12. Corporate culture. 13. New trends in management (a lecture of an expert from practice). 14. Management in a sample organization (a lecture of an expert from practice) Practical classes: Division of students into groups. Introducing essay topics. The classes are focused on the presentation and discussion of the topics, tasks and examples related to the lectures. Students also solve case studies. Presentation the results of the essays.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the subject is to provide the theory and practice of management and management functions and activities as performed by the managers. The students will know the approaches, principles, methods and techniques of management and they will be able to compare such knowledge with real working experience.
Students understand the principles of management and are capable of applying it in an enterprise.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral examination, Written examination, Test, Seminar work

Credit requirements: Active participation in practical classes. Presentation of management news. Team work essay and its presentation. 2 credit tests (75% success rate). Exam requirements: A written exam - a test (75% success rate), followed by an oral exam.
