Learning outcomes
|
Operations management is the set of activities that creates value in the form of goods or services by transforming inputs into outputs. Regardless of whether the end product is good or service, the production activities that go on in the organization are referred to as operations or operations management. The subject deals with issues of production management and labour processes, first of all with methods of labour improvement, labour environment (ergonomics), layouts and material flow design, value analysis, quality control, process management and new trends (smart systems, robotization, Industry 4.0, cloud).
Students will understand the processes of creating value added and the necessity to remove all form of wastes from processes. Experience of Toyota Production System, both positive and negative, will be analyzed. New approaches to lean production (Bosch Production System) are presented in detail.

No special prerequisites are necessary for the course Operations management.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Oral examination, Written examination, Seminar work
Credit Requirements: Successful completion of the test at least obratining 70 % of the credit test. Active work on seminars. Processing seminar projects and submitting calculation of given examples from the seminars for review. Examination Requirements: At least obtaining 70 % of the exam test. Oral and written exam.
