Course content
Study topics: 1. Introduction to Strategic Management Basic concepts, historical development and directions 2. Internal and external environment analyzes used in strategy formulation, Internal and external environment analyzes 3. Strategy typology The most commonly used strategies, their types and directions 4. The strategy implementation process Formulation, selection, implementation, development and control 5. BSC and KPI systems Balanced scorecard and key performance indicators 6. Leadership Influence of Leader Personality on Strategic Management 7. Free topic 8. - 10. Strategic Management Specifics in trade - Efficient Consumer Response, Category Management, CRM, Custom Trader Markets, Long Tail, Multichannel Retailing. 11. - 13. Specifics of strategic management in tourism - yield management, benchmarking in the Czech Republic, quality of services in the Czech Republic.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the subject is to introduce the theory and practice of strategic management in general and in business and tourism enterprises in particular.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written examination, Analysis of creative work (musical, visual, literary)

Credit requirements: Continuous participation in the work of the team in solving the Greatail managerial simulation game, submission of the final report from the game and presentation of the results. Any questions or problems should be consulted as soon as possible with a teacher who can specify and redefine the above rules. But there must be serious reasons. Exam requirements: The exam is based on knowledge of the lectures and compulsory study literature in the given range. The exam may be composed only after the credit was awarded. Lectures are a tool for understanding the issue, not a single and exhaustive source of information. Each subject of the lecture is supplemented by the necessary information sources for the study, which the student has to master in an adequate way. The exam for the first term is written, it is necessary to achieve at least 60%. The second and other attempts may also take place in an oral form.
