The Age of Revolutions. Revolutions of the Modern period. 8. The Age of Nationalism. The Unification of Germany and Italy. 9. The Age of Imperialism. Destiny of the white man and the New Colonialism. 10. The Age of new Players. The USA, Japan and China are entering the world stage.

Learning outcomes
|
To familiarise students with the main events and key aspects of the transformation of European society in the era of the so-called long 19th century.
The students understand the historical changes and processes that have shaped the modern world and extend beyond the present.

Prerequisites

Basic knowledge of history of the modern period.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Colloquium
Active participation in the lectures (min. 60 %), reading literature, interpretation of the selected questions in the context.
