Basic topics: 1. Introduction 2. Expressionism and literature before the First World War 3. Revolution of art in literature, visual arts and music 4. Literature of the early twenties 5. The Golden Twenties in German Literature 6. German literature in exile in Europe 7. German literature in exile in the USA? Beginning of the second Americanization 8. The first stage of German post-war literature 9. The aesthetic and political revolution under the sign of "68" 10. New subjectivism and postmodernism 11. Literature of the year 1989 12. Intercultural literature in Germany 13. Current trends in contemporary German literature 14. Summary

Learning outcomes
The subject of the subject is German literature since 1910 and the image of aesthetic, cultural and political changes that it gives. Based on selected examples ranging from Expressionist Literature to Literature at the Threshold of the 21st Century, students will familiarize themselves with the formal and content peculiarities of texts from Germany, gain insight into the main streams of German literature of the 20th century and will be able to recognize the continuity and discontinuity of changing " isms ". The subject of the analysis will be also the relations of literature to other arts.
The ability and competence to distinguish the main periods and aesthetics of German literature from the beginning to the end of the 19th century.
Prerequisites
Good knowledge of German (B2-C1).
