Course content
1. Introduction to the seminar 2. Essential historical events and their relation to the present / Written and electronic correspondence I 3. History and identity / Written and electronic correspondence II 4. Political systems in the Czech Republic and Germany / Written and electronic correspondence III 5. Interest (?) in politics of the young generation / Report 6. Politics and rhetoric, politics and media / Summary 7. Basic vocabulary and main topics in news / Newspaper report, Opinion piece 8. Fine arts, personalities, important international events / Book review 9. Architecture: the face of the city / Description and comparison of diagrams 10. Literature, book fairs, literary translations / Description and comparison of accompanying illustrations and illustrations 11. Cinematography in the CR and Germany / Text editing and visualization of information I 12. Radio; boom of audiobooks / Text editing and visualization of information II 13. Music / Text editing and visualization of information III 14. Final summary

Learning outcomes
Language Exercise IV focuses on spoken communication (conversation and listening) thematically concentrated in two larger units (History and Politics / Art) and on the development of written expression and the independent production of different kinds of texts. At the same time students will be provided with the basics of formal text editing and visualization of information during presentations (Power Point and others). The aim of the seminars is to obtain oral and written communication language skills of students.
Ability to communicate orally and in written form on level B2+.

Language skills on level B2+.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written examination, Student performance assessment, Analysis of student's language skills, Test, Interim evaluation

Active participation in the course, final test containing vocabulary and grammatical exercises. The participation in the course and attended activities is mandatory. The course will be taught in German.
