Course content
1. Sentence equivalents (Partizipialsatz) 2. Sentence equivalents (Infinitivsatz) 3. Subordinate clauses as a developed expression of sentence members (complements, supplements) 4. Attribute and different types of adjective clauses (Attributsatz) 5. Attribute (Partizipialattribut) and relative clauses (Relativsatz) 6. Active and passive - conversion, semantic roles 7. Means of language compression 8. Nominalization and verbalization 9. Means of expressing negation, multiple negation 10. Gerundive 11. Indirect speech, Subjunctive I 12. Modal verbs in the sense of subjective expression 13. Word order, sentence frame, Ausklammerung 14. Summary

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Dialogic (discussion, interview, brainstorming), Work with text (with textbook, with book), Individual preparation for exam
Learning outcomes
The seminar will focus on selected issues of German syntax according to the needs of students, such as practicing sentences (mostly inferior) and complex structures. Emphasis will be placed on understanding the German language as inflected analytical type and the comparison of Czech and German syntactic system.
Students can work on the basis of the practiced issues parts with more complex structures in the written and oral manifestations.
Prerequisites
The course assumes a basic overview and a good knowledge of the German language (B1).

Assessment methods and criteria
Analysis of student's language skills, Test

Attendance 70%, final test, performance of continuously given tasks. The subject will be taught in the German language.
