Course content
1. Computer support of archaeological research, its development, definition and importance 2. Overview of applicable methods and programs 3. Databases and their evaluation 4. 3D models and photogrammetry 5. GIS - introduction, coordinate systems 6. ArcGIS and its extensions 7. Data sources for GIS, map servers 8. Raster data 9. Vector data 10. Digital terrain models and their analysis 11. Spatial analyzes in GIS, prediction 12. Remote sensing data processing 13. Outputs and publications of computerized data 14. Presentation of projects

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic (reading, lecture, briefing), Demonstration, Work with multi-media resources (texts, internet, IT technologies)
Learning outcomes
The course aims to acquire skills in the field of archaeological data processing with the help of computer technology. The main topics are geographic information systems, documentation methods, descriptions and databases. Emphasis is placed on practical training in a laboratory equipped with the necessary technology.
Basics of work with geographical information system (ArcGIS), formalized description (tables, databases), basics of statistics. Ability to evaluate and present a data set.
Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of computer technology, Windows operating system and office programs (Excel, Access).

Assessment methods and criteria
Student performance assessment, Seminar work

Student performance assessment, credit is awarded for independent creation of a project based on the processing of a selected set of archaeological data.
