Course content

Learning outcomes
The objective of the course is to strengthen students´ communicative skills and competencies in the standard French language at the level of C1 according to the Common European Framework for Languages and to develop their skills towards the level C1+.
Students should be able to understand different discourses and lectures, different TV programs and films, longer and complicated factual texts and also contemporary prosaic texts. They should be able to recognize stylistic nuances of French texts, they should be able to explain their opinions, including professional topics and they should also master oral synthesis of information from different authentic audio documents. They should be also able to write an argumentative text and to choose an appropriate style of a written text, they should master basic techniques of writing a commentaire composé.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written examination, Essay, Student performance assessment, Analysis of student's language skills

Regular attendance, regular vocabulary tests, final written assignment.
