Art noveau 7. Fauvism and expresionism 8.-9. Futurism, cubism and abstraction 10. The avant-garde of the 1920s. 11. From Dada to surrealism 12.-13. Art after World War II.

The course is devoted to the European art from the beginning of the 19th century till 1950. It follows the key artistic trends, represented in the concrete artists, with the accent on the understanding of its sense and content. Besides the foreign artists, the interest will be focused also on the Czech artists.
The students gain the basic orientation in the European and Czech art of the 19th and 20th century. |
