Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to introduce selected authors of Anglo-American literature and their works. The main objectives will be centered on working with the literary texts which were omitted in compulsory literature courses or there was no time for them. The course will offer the opportunity to spend time on interesting topics and, as for the selection, students may suggest the works they are interested in, in cooperation with the lecturer. The themes may include drama, poetry and prose including children's literature and reading for young adults (sci-fi, fantasy). The main objectives will concentrate on introducing individual authors and literary context with the emphasis on specific literary texts.
The students will be able to understand a wider context of Anglo-American literature and its development and they will expand their ability to analyze literary works and text interpretation.
