Course content

Basic Education - Current Debates 5. Educational areas 6. Cross-Curricular subjects 7. Teacher Training & Teaching Practice 8. Classroom & Pupils 9.-10. Formal writing 11. Presentation skills 12. Closing discussion

Learning activities and teaching methods
Dialogic (discussion, interview, brainstorming), Work with text (with textbook, with book), Demonstration, Work with multi-media resources (texts, internet, IT technologies)
Learning outcomes
The students will revise and deepen their knowledge of English while focusing on further development of their communication skills. To improve their skills of presenting a particular topic within their curriculum is also key. The subject also aims to enhance students' ability to present the scope of work and activities of a particular education institution. To prepare the students for communication with foreign education institutions is among the objectives of this subject as well.
Ability to discuss both education-related and general topics in spoken and written form.
Prerequisites
English at B1 level of language proficiency.

Assessment methods and criteria
Student performance assessment, Test

Students are required to be active in seminars. They are expected to present a paper on a particular topic based on their curriculum (8 - 10 minutes). The presentation topic needs to be discussed with the lecturer in advance. There is a written test at the end of the course.
