Course content
The field practice is organized as a group lessons with rotating groups with several daily work blocks (morning and afternoon led by teachers; evening - individual work of students and consultations). The topics for the individual blocks are: (1) aquatic habitats and their animals, (2) planktonic organisms, (3) animals of soils, ridges and moss layers, (4) forest habitats and their animals, (5) wetland habitats and their animals, (6) determination of small vertebrates according to skeletal residues from owl, birds of prey and heron pellets and demonstration of small live mammals captured in traps. Identification of animals based on tracks, egs, feather, voices of birds and frogs, other signs), acquaintance with the basic animal ecology. The output of field practice is an application of selected topic in preparation of science lesson or presentation.

Learning outcomes
Intensive block four-day field practice is focused on strengthening the skills of recognizing and identifying animals, studying their behavior and ecological relationships in characteristic habitats. Students are also acquainted with the basic qualitative (and selected quantitative) methods of zoological field work.
Knowledge and skills in animal determination and differentiation necessary for nature science education at secondary school level.

Knowledge in demonstrated and found animals and their role in ecosystems. The use of basic methods of zoological investigation in the field. Preparing of final presentation.
