Course content
Classification, basics of biology and ecology of the following groups of animals and basics of application of this knowledge in science teaching. 1. Porifera. 2. Placozoa, Cnidaria, Ctenophora. 3. Lophotrochozoa: Platyhelminthes I, Chaetognatha. 4. Lophotrochozoa: Platyhelminthes II., Syndermata (= Rotifera + Acanthocephala), Micrognathozoa, Cycliophora, Gnathostomulida, Gastrotricha, Cycliophora, Phoronida, Brachiopoda, Bryozoa, Entoprocta, Nemertea. 5. Lophotrochozoa: Mollusca, Sipuncula. 6. Lophotrochozoa: Echiura, Annelida. 7. Ecdysozoa: Priapula, Kinorhyncha, Loricifera, Nematoda, Nematomorpha. 8. Ecdysozoa: Onychophora, Tardigrada, Arthropoda. 9. Ecdysozoa: Arthropoda: Chelicerata. 10. Ecdysozoa: Arthropoda: Myriapoda. 11. Ecdysozoa: Arthropoda: Crustacea. 12. Ecdysozoa: Arthropoda: Hexapoda I. 13. Ecdysozoa: Arthropoda: Hexapoda II. 14. Hemichordata, Echinodermata Studijní literatura.

Learning outcomes
Introduction to the system of invertebrates and practical knowledge of their important representatives. Acquisition of basic skills for laboratory work with zoological material and its observation and determination.
Theoretical knowledge of invertebrates and skills in determination and differentiation necessary for nature science education at lower secondary school level.

Assessment methods and criteria
Didactic test, Combined exam, Seminar work, Development of laboratory protocols

Theoretical knowledge of the basics of systematics, biology and ecology of individual taxa of invertebrates - verified by examination. Practical knowledge of selected representatives of invertebrates - verified by a test. Attendance at lab. Creating a didactic presentation on a given topic.
