Course content
|
School teaching gardens, their importance and basic equipment. Principles of safety and health protection when working in the school garden and when working with tools. Types of tools (tillage, maintenance, plant protection, watering, sowing and planting, harvesting) and its use. Organization of work in the school garden during the school year. Corners of nature in school classrooms and their equipment. Growing and treatment of houseplants, vegetative propagation of houseplants. Material preparation for science teaching. Model plants for teaching in schools - houseplants, vegetables, ornamental plants, medicinal plants. Creating a seed collection - practical implementation. Rules for establishing a herbarium and its practical creation (herbarium of weeds, grasses). Practical work - treatment of cultivated plants, cultivation experiments and observations, processing and conservation of plant products. Basics of ecological plant growing, principles of establishing wildlife gardens.
